I need to lose weight.

Today, I am overweight! I let myself go so many times, thanks to having two kids; both caesarian and all other life events that brought on trauma to my body.

Yo, I watch de food and I gain de weight. I own a pair of pants that I use as my gauge, it keeps me in check and today it does not button up.  I tried working out during the pandemic and was doing really well! Lost weight, looked great in those pants but then school happened. I stress eat and boom! I put back on the weight. I have a difficult time committing to waking up and walking especially on days when it rains. I struggle with waking up to go to the gym. 
Today, I’m changing this. Why today? Well, I just did summer school and completed my last course for a second minor. I graduate in October with a major in Journalism and a minor in English and Politics.  I will begin a Master of Art in Media Production in the Fall. YAY!

 I cannot continue to serve my mind and not my body. 

 I am a FOODIE! 

Anything my partner Jovian cooks, I’m game! I recall posting videos of eating and people commenting that I was going to turn into a cow. Not there yet but I did gain weight. To be honest my weight gain has very little to do with my love for food. I don’t overeat.  I have poor eating habits, mwen amez pain!! Bread and other foods that are high in carbs. I eat late at night (cause that is when I’m working) and I don’t drink enough water. It’s a constant struggle to finish a bottle of water. I have a plan and I will let you know what I am doing in another post.
If my mama was alive she could tell me “girl you putting on too much weight” My mother had serious issues with weight. She would wake up at 5 a.m to go walk and was always checking out her flat tummy in the mirror. She was an advocate for fitness and healthy living. The lady ate raw foods for months after her cancer diagnosis and it. My mother always kept my ass in check in the most gracious of ways.

She would say “you eating too much bread” or “you need to wake up with me to go and walk” or “why you have all that breadfruit on your plate”. She is probably looking at me now saying “Awa wee”

I am starting with a six-day detox with juices and smoothies with fruits and vegetables! Gosh, talking about it is making me want to 🤢 cause I love a home-cooked fig and stewed chicken or breadfruit and salt fish. 

I have an end goal. 

To fit into a jumper (I’ll post the picture in the next Blog Post)

I have been doing research on healthy eating and realized I needed to try a detox. After speaking to a friend, she suggested I do the juice detox which is a compilation of various juices and smoothies that would serve various results.

My drinks will come with a variety of ingredients that would cater to:
